Summer Rum Runner #3

Today I wore my blue shirt “which one” you ask “you have so many” you add what a wonderful question I worry I sometimes have too many blue shirts but then I remember this one character from this one book ( the book is about a bookstore) the character wore the same shirt every day but it wasn’t the same just looked the same I’m not sure if I finished that book I might have lost it and oh gosh that is a sad day to be sure

You would never see a track car skipping across the sand crests of the desert [in real life], you would never see a La Ferrari blitzing through a blizzard in the dark [in real life], because it’s insane, but also because it’s impossible. What’s the uncanny valley equivalent to when a game is just a little more [visually] appealing than real life? That’s not a rhetorical question, the answer is hyperrealism

Whitelight “Driveclub: Playstation’s Fallen Masterpiece” (7:21-7:42)

Sword Fire Loser: Armageddon: Annihilation; The Telling. A Game

*Scene begins, we see our player’s character. The camera pans over the character, they have sexy legs and arms, the head of a roach, a torso like looks like a comet. They are standing on a tree, there are trees everywhere else. The character moves from tree to tree to show the player the future game mechanics. The camera zooms out and pans towards a small mountain town that is on fire.*

/The player takes control of the character/

Character: I have no tracking information to catch this element. Jov, where are they?

Jov, through voice over: I know its hard to see, but do you see a patch of grass on the side of that mountain in front of you? I had a ping from that location, I’ll need to to get there quickly.

*The player reaches the patch of grass, the character removes both shoes. Both their feet are glowing blue*

Character: There does seem to be excessive energy here

*The character is punched in the stomach by an invisible force*

Jov: Character, are you alright?

Character: *coughs* I told you, my name is George Saunders

Jov: *gasps* You’re the writer?

George: Yes, I told you this an hour ago when you stole my body for this.

Jov: Ha ha! Okay George, maybe one day you’ll write this as a story and maybe then I’ll understand how I’m the one stealing your body for this. Now, what else is happening in that field?

George: There is an elemental. Although it can’t see me. It appears to be reading a Judy Blume book.

Jov: Is it “Are you There God? It’s Me, Margaret”? I love that one.

George: Yes.

Jov: In that case, I need you to offer the contract. I really want another copy of that book.

George: Couldn’t you get the ebook?

Jov: No.

George: Well…

*George walks over towards the elemental. As he walks, he steps on an invisible pumpkin which makes a loud noise as it crumbles. The elemental notices, places its book down, and gameplay happens*

Jov: So, did they accept our offer?

George: Yes. We can head back to base now, unless you want us to deal with the fire.

Jov: That’s up to you, George.

*Player is given the option to save the city. There are no story repercussions in the choice. A new base will begin construction immediately after this one burns completely, if you leave it.*
