Pirouettes and Planets is a collection of poetry designed to explore the relationship between reader and author. This book breaks down into four poetry interactions allowing the reader to walk alongside the poet to become both reader and author. The four interactions are: ‘complete me,’ ‘grow me,’ ‘shape me,’ and ‘expand me’. These are ways that we can work together to craft poetry.

The design of this book is a reaction to the theme: pirouettes and planets. That is, our theme explores body and environment. We hope these poems are fulfilling, and that you have fun with the collaborative process.

I was approached by the designer to create a poetry zine with unique poetry games. The designer hired the cover artist. Together, we all made choices about which poems to include, the color palate, the aesthetic, and how the poetry interactions should play.
